First city in the country to run on BS-VI fuels

Delhi became the first city in the country to run on BS-VI fuels in order to roll out cleaner fuels across the country. Delhi has already switched to Bharat Stage-VI (BS-VI) fuels, before the scheduled date i.e. April 1.

Need for BS-VI Fuels

The decision to use BS-VI Fuels in Delhi was taken in November when smoke produced by burning crops of farmers in neighboring states choked the capital. Vehicular emissions from commercial vehicles using old engines crowding the city are also one of the reasons for using BS-VI Fuels.
